Applewood Smoked Cheddar – Leicestershire
Sweet smoky aroma with a lingering taste that reminded me of campfires enjoyed on many vacations.
The cheese was very soft and moist, so not like a typical cheddar, which would be drier and more crumbly. By itself, I found to to be, “okay”. I liked it but I’m not sure it would end up on my cheese plate again. I did try it in a sandwich the following day and was more of a fan.
Because of it’s softness, this cheese would be great for cooking, and as already noted, is great in sandwiches.
