About Me
First, a disclaimer: I am not a cheese expert, but I love cheese.
I live in Portland, Oregon and buy most of my cheese at Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods, Fred Meyer and the occasional specialty cheese shop. There’s a little more info about why this blog exists on the Background page, so check that out if you like.
More on me later….let’s get to the cheese!

Hi, I just bought some greenbank farms raw milk monterey jack cheese. What I want to know, and can’t find the info anywhere, is this. Are the animals pastured? I love cheese but limit myself to raw milk pastured animal products. 80% pastured is fine. If you now anything, please respond. Thanks, Glynda-Lee in Chico, CA
Hi Glynda – Sorry for the delay in replying. I’ve been a bit absent from my blog for a few months but getting back now.
I don’t know the specific details of how the farm is run. According to their web site, 120 acres of the farm is organic and pasture, so I would say it’s a good bet that this cheese meets your requirements. Here is their website. http://greenbankfarm.net/
