What I know about cheese would fill a thimble
But I plan to change that!
I never thought I’d blog, and certainly not about cheese! But I love cheese and wanted a method to record my cheese tastings. After a few false starts with scraps of paper and a horrible spreadsheet, I thought a blog might work. It’ll keep me motivated (I tell myself).
I plan to try a new cheese as frequently as possible (in no particular order) with off the cuff reactions to each one. I’ll post photos too, when I can.
I moved to Portland, Oregon recently and have rediscovered my Cheese Muse. This occurred because the stores here offer tiny cuts of different cheeses and you can get them for under $3. Amazingly simple and brilliant! Perhaps this is normal for a lot of folks, but not in northern Florida.
When I discovered these little nuggets of cheese everywhere, it reawakened my dormant love for cheese. Looking back over the years, I’ve always gravitated towards the cheese case in a store. I love to look at cheese. I like to smell it and I love to eat it.
Even though I started this blog for my own purposes, if someone stumbles across it and finds it useful, all the better.
Thanks, Karen

Is it possible to order Green Bank Raw Goat Cheddar directly from the producer?
We normally get our supply from local Whole Foods Stores, but there has been a dearth of product during the last feww weeks.
There doesn’t appear to be a link to permit direct purchase from the producer on this website. If I am incorrect, will you please indicate how I can buy direct?
Thank you,
Hi Jose – Not that I’m aware of. The farm (in Preston, WA) doesn’t appear to have a website but I found their phone # in Google. I also buy this cheese from Whole Foods and as I haven’t bought it lately, I’m hoping there’s not a lack of supply at my local WF! If you live in Portland, (a long shot, I know) you might try the Cheese Bar. Good luck!
